REDSTART APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
RedStart is O’Connors dedicated program for apprentices and trainees to achieve their greatest potential.
O’Connors offers ongoing support and mentoring, combined with on-the-job, internal, and specialist training in state-of-the-art workshop and training facilities. You’ll also have the opportunity to work across 15 locations, gaining a broad range of experience to support your career growth throughout your apprenticeship and well into the future.

Apprentice Service Technician
In this position you will work with the Service Department, assisting the team to service and maintain a range of heavy vehicles in the workshop and out in the field.
You will complete a Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology over 4 years completing trade school, on the job and internal specialist training throughout.
Unique to O’Connors RedStart Program, full-time Diesel Mechanic apprentices will receive a toolbox valued up to $5,000.00 to help start their career with the tools required for the job.
Positions are available in our Birchip, Bordertown, Ouyen, Shepparton and Swan Hill dealerships.
Parts Interpreter Trainee
In this position you will work with the team to provide exceptional customer service and technical parts support for agricultural machinery to our customers and the service department.
You will learn to source and identify parts from electronic catalogues, manuals and data bases to help our customers keep moving.
You will complete a Certificate III in Automotive Sales over 3 years completing on the job and formal training throughout.
Positions are available across our dealership network.

I love the variety in the Parts department. I get to interact with customers both over the phone and in person, build my communication skills, and I’m not stuck sitting behind a screen. No two days are the same, and the supportive, approachable team at O’Connors makes it a great place to work.
What I enjoy most about my role is having great people around me, and learning from experienced technicians. I enjoy learning how to operate, repair, and diagnose tractors and combines, as well as gaining hands-on experience with diagnostic work during harvest.
What I love about my role is working in a team environment and learning new skills off fellow employees. I get to travel around to different places working at O’Connors, and I learn something new every day.
I enjoy getting to work on different types of equipment, especially Steigers. O’Connors is a good company to work for and sell great machines!
The best part of my role is getting to travel out to jobs and learn from our experienced techs. O’Connors has a great team, and the support I’ve received throughout my apprenticeship has been a real help.
I really enjoy the wide variety of machines I get to work on, and the people I get to meet. As an Apprentice, the exposure I get working on a great range of jobs and issues has been a great experience. Working on such big machinery is always exciting.
The most enjoyable part of working at O’Connors is being part of an awesome team, not just in Warracknabeal, but being able to network with other branches to create friendships. I enjoy the different machines I get to work on every day and constantly learning new ways to fix everything.
I enjoy going out on farms and working on all types of new and old machinery, continuously gaining knowledge on a range of jobs. It’s a great team of people, and there is always someone to help and give you feedback. Headers are by far my favorite machinery to work on—they’re iconic in the agricultural world.
As an apprentice, I have had plenty of opportunities to visit farms and learn about different machinery. There is plenty of scope to learn and develop as apprentices with the range of learning opportunities available.
